Materials:

  • Paint (yellow, orange, brown)
  • Small paper plates
  • Plastic Forks (one per color)
  • FREE Daniel and the Lions’ Den Printable (link provided below)

Steps:

  1. Put a quarter-sized amount of paint on each paper plate. To prevent mixing, it’s best to use one paper plate for each color.
  2. Dip one plastic fork into each paint splotch, ensuring that the entire bottom of the fork is lightly coated with paint.
  3. Stamp the fork onto the Daniel and the Lions’ Den Printable. Position the curved bottom of the fork near the perimeter of the lion’s face, and gently rock the fork back and forth to achieve the desired fork pattern.
  4. Repeat the stamping and rocking process with the fork until you complete the full circle of the lion’s mane.
  5. Set the artwork aside to dry.

Crafter’s Tips:

  • If there’s excess paint on the bottom of the fork, lightly stamp it on scrap paper before applying it to the printable. Excess paint can distort the fork pattern.
  • For added dimension, you can use two or more colors for each lion’s mane, as shown in the picture above.
  • Consider adding googly eyes to enhance the cuteness factor!
