Memory Enhancer: Videotape your child acting as a real estate agent describing each aspect and marketing the home to potential buyers. Watch the video and discuss it over dinner. You could also send the video to family members, friends, or teachers to help promote language development and build confidence.

2. Showcase Your Magna-Tile Masterpiece on Garage Door Canvas

Did you know that most metal garage doors are magnetic?! That’s incredible news if you’re a magna-tile lover! Think of all the possibilities with a magnetic garage door canvas of such a grand size! Your child can create tall skyscrapers, flaming rocket ships, or ferrous dinosaurs!  Other ideas can include practicing different patterns with the shapes and colors or exploring how different shapes can exist within one another (4 small triangles can build a large square). The possibilities are endless!

3. Magna-Tile Stain Glass Window

Make your own beautiful stained glass windows using Magna-Tiles! It is a fun and creative way to add color and beauty from both the inside and outside of your window. The best part- when the morning sunshine likes to join in on the fun by creating its own art on the floor as the light shines through the different colored tiles. This idea works wonders if you desire additional privacy from neighboring homes. Trust me, it’s so cool!

Memory Enhancer: Make seasonal themed stained glass windows for the different seasons and holidays. Make a heart for Valentine’s Day, flag for Memorial Day, and a colorful egg for Easter. If decorative window is on the first floor you can shine a flashlight from the outside of the window to see the light shine through the colored tiles in the darkness.

4. Magna-Tile Ball Chase

Looking to add some excitement and movement to your Magna-Tile designs? Build a ramp using Manga-Tiles and add some lightweight balls to the mix. Begin by constructing the base of the ramp using the Magna-Tiles, and continue building upwards by stacking identical structures on top of each other. Depending on the size of the ball you’re using, you may need to make your tunnels two tiles high instead of one. If you’re aiming to reach the ceiling with your ramp, you can utilize a chair for added height.

As you build, it’s important to conduct trial runs to ensure your design is working efficiently. The transparent Manga-Tiles are perfect for observing the movement within your design. For smooth movement, use flat Manga-Tiles at the bottom of the tunnels. It’s helpful to place a few window pieces on the sides in case your ball gets stuck. Enjoy the exciting journey of your Magna-Tile ball chase!

Memory Enhancer: Count or use a stopwatch to time how long it takes for the ball to travel from start to finish. Race the ball ten times, then calculate the average by adding all the times together and dividing by 10.

5. Using Magna-Tiles to Help Measure Garden Plots

Get your kids involved in the garden process and use Magna-Tiles to measure the appropriate distance between plants. Using Magna-Tiles is a great way to help children visually understand measurement in the real world. Not to mention, children love using Magna-Tiles. Each Magna-Tile square measures a 3-inch length and width. So if you make a 6 by 6 Magna-Tile square, that would correlate to 18 square inches, making it easy to space out plants correctly. A raised bed garden measuring 4×8 feet, has adequate space for 12 plants using the Magna-Tile method. It’s a great way to allow young children to feel a part of something in a big and healthy way.

Memory Enhancer: Look for local Amish farms in your area as they often offer affordable plants and valuable gardening advice. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we could purchase four small plants for just $1.50. Our haul included cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow peppers, mint, lettuce, and Italian basil, all for a mere $9.00! If I had known it was so inexpensive, I would have started a garden much sooner. Additionally, this will help your children to explore diverse farms and greenhouses, helping them develop a greater appreciation for the source of our food
